Hello William. Make sure the door lock is good and the unit is draining properly. If so, it sounds like the control board may be failing on the unit since the motor works in diagnostic mode.

Tom, When you close the door, the door lock assembly is what allows the unit to go through the cycles. As for the unit stopping draining in the middle of the wash cycle, you would want to check the drain to make sure that it is not clogged. Check to make sure that the pump is getting power to it. If the pump is not getting power then the issue will be the control board.
