This is a simple set of lawnmower ignition keys. They’re also used for an array of riding mowers, lawn tractors, and even snowblowers. To simplify repair and replacement procedures, most manufacturers use standardized keys for all their machines in a given class. As a result, a single key can be used for dozens of machines. The keys are manufactured from stainless steel, with an INDAK logo stamped into the center. Regardless of whether the machine is a walk-behind mower or a full-sized lawn tractor, a keyed ignition is easier to operate than a recoil cord. Similarly, replacing a key is generally straightforward. The exception is if the old key has snapped off in the ignition. In this case, a set of needle-nosed pliers can sometimes be used to extract the key. A powerful magnet can also be helpful if the broken key is being stubborn. In the worst-case scenario, the ignition may need to be replaced. This is an OEM part sourced directly from MTD, and it is sold as a set of two.
A fuel cap assembly is a component often seen on lawnmowers and other lawn and garden equipment. It is made of durable black plastic and is used to ensure that fuel doesn’t spill out of the fuel tank. Over time, fuel cap assemblies can begin to wear out and cause problems. Sometimes this results in a cap that doesn’t tighten all the way or there may be a fuel smell when using a lawnmower or snowblower. If fuel is leaking, the cap doesn’t fit right, or the cap seems damaged, it’s best to replace it with a new component. This is a simple process that involves removing the original fuel cap assembly and fitting the new assembly to the lawn machine. This fuel cap assembly is a genuine OEM component that comes directly from the manufacturer. It is an individual part that is compatible with MTD, Murray, Cub Cadet, Bolens, Yard-Man, and Yard Machines lawnmowers, snowblowers, chipper shredders, and tillers. No tools are required to replace this component.
This is a blade adapter assembly for a lawn mower. The blade adapter serves as a mount for the blade allowing it to freely rotate. A mounting bolt and blade support hold the blade in place, with the bolt fastening directly into the blade assembly. This is a genuine OEM part and is sold individually. This part is compatible with several brands, including Cub Cadet, Troy-Bilt, Yard Machines, and Yard Man. Blade adapters should be replaced when they are worn or broken. A broken or sheared key in the blade adapter will cause the blade to loosen. To replace the blade adapter, first disengage the engine and weight the mower down. Prop the cutting blade before positioning a ?-inch socket on the bolt. Then use a mallet to strike it and loosen the mounting bolt. Unthread the bolt and remove the blade support and blade. A mallet or gear puller will help to remove the old adapter. The new blade adapter can then be installed by aligning the key with the slot in the crankshaft and pushing it into place. Replace the blade, cutting edge down, align the support, and rethread the bolt. Secure the blade before torquing the bolt to 30 foot-pounds.
This is a small engine spark plug positioned in the engine cylinder head. It supplies the spark that will ignite the air-fuel mixture to enable an engine to produce power. This particular spark plug is designed with superior corrosion resistance and dependable performance. Small but mighty, this component allows for increased conductivity and heat control. If the spark plug is damaged or in poor condition, many problems may arise in equipment, including sudden stop while running, overheating, and excessive gas consumption. Replace the spark plug by disconnecting the spark plug wire first, then use a socket driver or wrench to remove the spark plug. Install the new spark plug by turning it by hand initially to avoid cross-threading. If it doesn't twist anymore, use a deep socket wrench or socket driver to tighten the plug until snug. The spark plug can also be used to tune up outdoor power equipment or improve a small engine. This part is recommended to be replaced once per season. This part works with lawn mowers, snowblowers, tillers, leaf blowers, log splitters, wood chippers, and others with small engines. It is compatible with brands such as Craftsman, Cub Cadet, Troy-Bilt, Murray, Yard Machines, MTD, Huskee, Bolens, Yard-Man, and MasterCut. This is a genuine OEM part directly from the manufacturer and is sold individually.
12-volt battery for gas walk-behind and self-propelled mowers. Replace when engine won't start or cranks slowly. Verify voltage matches your model.
This is a rear trail shield (also called a rear skirt) that mounts to the back of a walk-behind lawn mower deck. It deflects grass clippings, debris, and small objects downward to prevent them from being thrown behind the mower during operation. Replace this part if it is cracked, broken, or missing, which can create a safety hazard from flying debris.
This V-belt is a genuine MTD part, sold individually. This V-belt can be used as a replacement part for lawnmowers. The v-belt of a lawn mower is operated by a network of pulleys that work in conjunction to turn the belt powered by the engine. The purpose of the V-belt for a lawnmower is to rotate the lawnmower blades.A V-belt might suffer damage that can stop the belt from helping the lawn mower blades to rotate and mow effectively. Symptoms of a damaged v-belt can include visible cracks, deterioration, or erosion, or visible damage to the side wall. If any of these symptoms are attributable to a malfunctioning or damaged V-belt, the component should be removed and replaced with this genuine OEM replacement part before operating the lawn mower again. Remember to wear gloves when handling, repairing, and using outdoor equipment. This is an OEM part sourced directly from the manufacturer, and it is sold individually. This V-belt is compatible with the following outdoor appliance brands: MTD, Craftsman, Cub Cadet, Ryobi, Troy-Bilt, Yard Machines, Huskee, Bolens, Yard-Man, and MasterCut.
Metal blade support spacer that mounts between the mower blade and bolt. Secures the blade to the deck base. Replace if worn, damaged, or missing.
Replacement wheel assembly for walk-behind mowers and lawn equipment. Installs on axle to restore mobility. Order when wheel is cracked, broken, or worn.
Installing a brand-new air filter keeps the engine in top running condition. When the machine is in operation, the vacuumed air goes through the air filter. Any dirt or dust is left in the filter media. Over time, the filter will become dirty and can no longer provide the same filtering efficiency as before. If left ignored, the tiny particles could clog the engine and the carburetor. You may experience misfires and no engine start-up. An air filter replacement is cheap and easy to do. Simply remove the air cleaner cover and take out the dirty filter. Insert the new filter into the housing. This replacement will take less than 5 minutes. A screwdriver will be needed. The MTD 951-10298 Air Cleaner Kit is a genuine air filter from MTD. Each kit comes with one paper filter and one foam filter. The foam filter can be cleaned with water and detergent. The paper filter, however, needs replacement at least once a year. This air filter kit is compatible with Cub Cadet, PowerMore, and Troy-Bilt. It can also work with other garden equipment like wheel string trimmers, chipper-shredder vacuums, and log splitters.
