The drive V-belt, manufactured by Craftsman, is used in one- and two-stage snow blowers as well as tillers. This is a drive belt that connects the engine to the auger of the tiller or snowblower via a pulley at either end. This turns the blades of the tiller or the auger blades of the blower to expel snow. As a flexible, hardened rubber part connecting other moving parts, a V-belt is considered “replaceable,” meaning that users should expect to have to replace this part during normal use of the equipment. Signs that a drive V-belt may be going bad are a squealing sound when the blower's auger or the tiller's blades are first engaged, or if the auger is slow to engage and loses power during use. To replace the V-belt, the equipment must be secured and the spark plug caps removed. Tilt the device to reveal the location of the belt. It must detached from the engine pulley and the transmission pulley. When replacing the V-belt, before tightening the pulley, make sure all moving parts are properly aligned. This genuine OEM part is compatible with machines sold by MTD, Yard Man, Craftsman, and Yard Machine.
This is a simple set of lawnmower ignition keys. They’re also used for an array of riding mowers, lawn tractors, and even snowblowers. To simplify repair and replacement procedures, most manufacturers use standardized keys for all their machines in a given class. As a result, a single key can be used for dozens of machines. The keys are manufactured from stainless steel, with an INDAK logo stamped into the center. Regardless of whether the machine is a walk-behind mower or a full-sized lawn tractor, a keyed ignition is easier to operate than a recoil cord. Similarly, replacing a key is generally straightforward. The exception is if the old key has snapped off in the ignition. In this case, a set of needle-nosed pliers can sometimes be used to extract the key. A powerful magnet can also be helpful if the broken key is being stubborn. In the worst-case scenario, the ignition may need to be replaced. This is an OEM part sourced directly from MTD, and it is sold as a set of two.
This rubber pad is a replacement part used on snowblowers. The pad works in conjunction with the auger assembly and moves the snow through the machine and out of the chute. It is held in place with a hex washer screw. The rubber pad undergoes a substantial amount of stress when it is being used. Owners will want to check it for wear and tear. This should be done at least once per season. If there are signs of damage or if the pad has broken, it should be replaced right away. The replacement is fast and simple. It is advised to replace all of the rubber components in the auger at the same time. The genuine OEM replacement rubber pad for snowblowers is sold individually. The compatible brands include Craftsman, Ryobi, Troy-Bilt, Yard Machines, MTD, Huskee, Bolens, Yard-Man.
The snowblower auger paddle is designed for use with various single-stage 21 MTD snow throwers and blowers. This part may also be referred to as the spiral crescent. This paddle is attached to the auger, which rotates when the engine is started. As the auger rotates, the paddle will pick up and throw the snow out of the way. This part may get damaged by debris or some type of accident, or it can wear down over time. Replace a broken or worn out snowblower paddle with a genuine OEM replacement paddle. This is an OEM replacement part from MTD that fits various models of snowblowers. It can be used with compatible models from Yard Machines, Yard-Man, Troy-Bilt, Husky, Ryobi, Bolens, and MTD machines. There are over 150 models in total that this paddle can work with. It is made out of durable rubber and comes sold individually. There are two screws at each end required for mounting, which are sold separately.
The shave plate, also called the scraper bar, is an important but often overlooked part of a snowblower. This thin metal strip sits at the bottom of the auger housing against the ground and gathers the snow the auger will expel through the chute. Made of hard plastic, the shave plate is the only part of the snowblower that actually touches the snow-covered ground without rolling. As durable as the shave plate is manufactured to be, it constantly comes into contact with unseen objects that pound, slice, and pit it. Eventually, the shave blade has to be replaced. To replace the blade, simply invert the blower, unscrew the old blade, attach the new blade, and put the blower right side up again. As long as the user is replacing the shave plate and has the machine upside down, this is an ideal time to check for damage to the wheels, the auger blades, driveshaft, and the condition of the shear pin. If this replacement is taking place in preparation for the coming winter, it might be a good time to replace the oil and oil filter as well. Be sure to use genuine OEM replacement parts that perfectly match the factory originals. This blade is compatible with snowblowers made by Yard-Man, Bolens, Yard Machines, Troy-Bilt, Craftsman, Ryobi, Cub Cadet, Huskee, Montgomery Wards, and Ryobi.
