This is a snap mount safety switch that is a part of many types of lawn and garden equipment. The safety switch is made of plastic and has a metal four-pronged plug on the bottom. A button is located on the top. Inside of the base, there are two sets of contacts. One set is used to create a circuit between two blades, while the other set makes the circuit for the other pair of blades. Turn off the tool, allow it to cool, and disconnect the spark plug wire. Remove the engine cover before taking off the fuel tank assembly. The engine blower housing will also need to be removed.
