Tim M Concord , CA December 17, 2016 Appliance: Model 2014 SAMSUNG SIDE-BY-SIDE The locking mechanism for the water filter stripped I installed a new water case for the filter which included the water connections. This would be very easy if I would have watched the correct YouTube video! It would have taken approx 30 minutes instead of 3+ hours. I had a 3% idea of how to fix it but was able to do it even with my monuments mistakes!! First, I did NOT need to remove the line directly to the ice maker. Second, the module that the ice maker, water in and water out lines connect to was difficult to figure out....do not pull the tubes out with pliers...remove the little plastic ring under the white disc above the light blue module, that the water pipe runs into. Then PUSH DOWN on the white ring and slide the pipe out and just slide in the new one, pull on the tube slightly to lock and replace the little locking slider ring. Mine will not lock because I broke the locking valve trying to remove the water tubes. I still do not know what specific kind of pressure valve it is only how it works. Third, the valve/tube coupling on the front behind the dust/grill cover is the same but without the locking slider. Just push in the tiny gray ring that the tube slides into and slide the tube out. Just push the tube in securely to reconnect. Common sense-Unplug the frig, turn off the water. Put every screw, color tubing and anything else back exactly the way you found it. Taking a cell pic before you disassemble is a good idea if you are like me and do not know what you are doing and you are just trying to save some money. Use a towel to catch any water that is left in the pipes and DRY EVERYTHING WELL before you plug it back in and turn on the water. It was defiantly worth the effort. Richard D Kissimmee , FL August 09, 2021 Jackhammer noise while running water dispenser. I followed along with the appliance parts pro video. The video was very straight forward and I managed to finish fixing my fridge in an hour. It was probably less but I had to take things out of my fridge to get access to the filter housing. This part helped me save a ton of money! Thanks for the step by step video and providing me with all of the correct parts. Read More...
