John B Coral Springs , FL May 05, 2017 Appliance: Model SAMSUNG FRENCH DOOR OVER FREEZER, CENTER FILTER Very slow water from door on my samsung french door fridge New filters did not fix issue and lines were clear. No need to pull fridge out, Changing this part fixed completely and took about an hour. Mostly because I did not find a good step by step to follow. FIRST: Shut off water, but leave power on for inside fridge lighting. 1. Remove two crisper drawers 2. Squeeze two white tabs just under glass shelf in middle filter housing while pulling off front filter cover (has big hole for filter in middle of it). This requires slotted screwdriver to LIGHTLY pry away from housing in two slots each side. 3. Remove glass shelf 4. Remove 3 screws from right side of housing with phillips head. 3rd one is at very back. Also remove tape at back holding two halves together, if still there from factory. 4s. Ask wife if she could please delay supper a half an hour. 5. You will see 6 tabs holding two halves of filter housing together, 3 on top and 3 on bottom. use slotted screwdriver to gently lift and separate. remove right side housing. 6. Locate and remove two screws holding the bad part in place. 7. remove and set aside two red clips from hoses. 8. Hold grey ring down against housing while simultaneously rocking part away from the two connected hoses. 9. I was able to reuse the hose this new part supplied as new, which allowed me to NOT have to pull out fridge. 10. Press new part FULLY onto two hoses and replace red clips. 11. Put everything back in reverse, except the tape at the back. 2 screws on new part, snap 6 tabs in place, replace three screws. 12. Be sure filter housing fits in slot at bottom of fridge, between crisper drawers. This may take a little wiggling. 13. You now need to be sure filter housing is snapped in place under glass shelf you have just put back by lifting or front of filter housing while holding shelf down. 14. Turn on water, test by running any air out. 15. Tell wife of your genius and ask where dinner is. Then apologize and give her a peck on the cheek. Kyle M Stephenville , TX March 27, 2017 Appliance: Model RF28HMEDBRS/AA Very slow water flow from samsung Ordered the Assembly case filter. Fairly simple fix. I did not use the provided water line. I just reused the old one. The de-install took a little time to figure out how it came apart. I could not find any help for this model online. Remove the bottom drawers, I took the glass out of the bottom shelf to figure out how to remove it. Once shelf is out, remove the screws on the side of the filter housing, remove the front cover, then you can push the retaining clips on the inside front of the housing. That will separate the housing allowing access to the filter assembly. Remove the red retaining clips, push down on the grey section around the hose, and pull the hose out. Put in new part and retaining clips and reassemble. Taking it apart took about 15-20 minutes, while I figured it out. Putting it back together took about 5. Juan C Plano , TX October 11, 2016 Appliance: Samsung Refrigerator RF261BEAESR/AA-0001 Water dispenser rattling noise There are two possible solutions: one is just replacing the filter head and the second is replacing the entire filter case. I tried the first one and it worked, the noise is gone and has been working for a few days now. The whole repair took me less than 30 min Thanks to the people that posted both solutions, especially to the person who recommended just replacing the the filter head, it saved me more than $100 by replacing just what was needed Read More... 9 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 15-30 minutes Tools: Screwdrivers
