Beth N Excelsior , MN January 03, 2019 Appliance: Samsung Refrigerator RF266AEPN/XAA-0001 Fan that cools the compressor died Not easy to figure out. Removed screws that appeared to hold the motor/fan/bracket in but it didn't budge (??). Watched a You Tube video but the guy's camera work wasn't too clear. I at least gathered that there was a plastic, one-way button/slide lock on the underside of bracket that holds the motor/fan assemby in.. Didn't make sense that once the button was pushed up with a screwdriver, the bracket would slide out (towards you) because there are rigid cooling lines that are in the way. HOWEVER, once that button is pushed up and you slide the bracket just 1/2" towards you, the bracket releases. Then, you can "cartwheel" the bracket over those rigid cooling lines the get the assembly out from the refrigerator. Also, many have said that it's hard to get the fan off the motor w/o breaking the fan blade. The blade is both friction fitted on glued to the motor's shaft. I put some WD 40 on the shaft to help loosen the glue. I let it sit for awhile. I then used some well-placed wedges and flat screwdrivers to coax the blade off of the shaft.
