Patrick W Milwaukee , WI September 10, 2016 Appliance: Samsung Refrigerator RF24FSEDBSR/AA-0000 Icemaker stopped working After searching for information, the best guess was a defrost problem, so I first fully defrosted and reset the ice maker (this is the recommendation of Samsung and others on the net). This did not fix the problem. Next best guess was water fill valve, but after removing ice maker from fridge, determined it had cubes in it but would not eject. So, finally decided to order replacement ice maker. If you search the next for this model (DA97-13178A) there are instructions for removal of the ice maker. Removal is only 2 screws and disconnecting 1 cable harness, so not too bad at all. Replacement ice maker fixed the problem! Mauricio R Corvallis , OR August 05, 2020 Appliance: Samsung Refrigerator RF23J9011SG/AA Ice maker frosting up and water freezing around ice maker. Replaced ice maker and tray assembly. Tried calling Samsung but not very helpful.Talked to local repair people and they state that is a problem with Samsung refrigerators. They no longer service Samsung products. Stated the housing around the ice maker needs to be sealed to prevent air from infiltrating the internal workings of ice maker. Looked at videos of ice maker replacement and they were very helpful. Care must be taken to not bend refrigerant tube extending into ice maker. Also had to take time to dry internal housing of ice maker before sealing external housing with silicone. Encourage some instructions to help DI Y's in replacing parts. Relative easy replacement but took time to get ice maker dry.
