Paul M Sugar Land , TX June 17, 2016 Appliance: Samsung Refrigerator RF4287HAWP/XAA Power to cooler draw on fridge was out due to broken wire Apparently this was a known problem on the Samsung Model RF4287HAWP/XAA OR HABP/XAA. The control harness leading to the draw is part of the rail slide assembly and after 2 years the cable had snapped from regular use (poor design). So the fix was straight forward once I ordered the part: 1. Remove the draw tray 2. Remove electric harness cover, squeeze and it pops out 3. Disconnect power harness 4. Undo bolts on front left and right of draw - just sheet metal bolts 5. Set draw front aside 6. Remove front l bracket from rail assembly - 2 sheet metal bolts 7. Pull forward both rail assemplies and remove joining tracking bar, slide to right and then it pops out of the other side and remove 8. Remove screw holding in rail (Philips) 9. Disconnect other end of harness which plugs into socket in fridge interior wall 10. Move rail to left and slide forwards, rear is hel in be insert/bayonet 11. Installation is reversal of the above steps We did have an extended warranty from Best Buy but they would not honor this because they refused to categorize this as a mechanical repair. Technician refused to proceed with repair and said this was a fire hazard ... what a load of rubbish! It took me 1/2 hour surfing to locate the right part, and then 1/2 hour to fix, Net result, don't be scared, you can do it! Ed M Harrison , OH August 16, 2020 Convenience drawer would not close tight, due to the rail slide and the wire to the control getting caught. Easy repair. Remove drawer. Take cover off wire connection on back of drawer front. Disconnect wire terminal. Remove 4 bolts holding drawer front to both slide assemblies ( 10 mm socket ) and set aside. Remove small sheet metal screw at top front of both slides. Disconnect wire terminal from wall. Hold both slides and pull straight out. Back of slides are held in by tabs that fit into the wall. Slides easily come apart from connecting rod. Installation is in reverse. 15 minute fix. Be sure to check left side as I discovered broken springs that help pull the drawer closed. Morgan J Pittsburgh , PA March 20, 2016 Appliance: Model RF4287HAWP/XAA OR HABP/XAA The middle drawer slide was damaged and lost some ball bearings I replaced the rail-slide assembly. The repair wasn't difficult and took about 15 minutes. The only difficulty I had was finding the correct part. Samsung did not list the part at all based on my model number for a white refrigerator, so I had to look up the part number under the stainless steel model. The new part was identical to the old one in my fridge and works great!
