Within 5 minutes of receiving the part, I had a functioning washer again. The washer had been stubborn for a week. The laundry pile was growing and threatening to gain sentience. I pleaded with the washer, "Please, sir, I need to wash clothes!" Alas, it responded, "8E." I wandered the halls of the Internet forums looking for guidance and several wise sages suggested the MEMS sensor was the cause of the malady. Kent C Glen Allen , VA May 20, 2016 Appliance: Samsung Washer WF520ABP/XAA Rear mems sensor on samsung front load washer Removed the lid by taking out two screws in the back and sliding it off. Removed the two screws holding the sensor to the top of the drum. Snapped the wire clamp from the bracket at the top of the washer, then unplugged the sensor. Installed the new sensor following the steps in reverse order. The entire repair took less than 15 minutes. This was the easiest thing I've ever done to save myself a $250 repair bill. Swapping out machine would have taken 2 weeks. Samsung repair people said they were so busy they could not get to me for 10 days. They still have not called! Sensor is mounted on top of drum right under lid. Two screws for lid. Two more for sensor. Appliance parts was able to ship part next day!
