Jon S Tuscarora , MD February 21, 2015 Appliance: Samsung Refrigerator RF260BEAEBC/AA-0001 Displayed e1 error code the root cause was the sensor (thermistor) that got ripped off of the roof of the freezer Since I could not find the correct thermistor from the schematic provided, I ordered the thermistor harness for the evaporator. I cut the harness and spliced it to the sheared thermistor wires on the roof of the freezer compartment. It now works fine with a little "farmer ingenuity" help. Samsung was absolutely no help at all, but the guy that I spoke with over the phone at APP sure was. This site is now my "go to" for appliance parts! Tip for others with this model. Do not overfill the upper storage tray in the freezer. Doing so may cause stored items to shear the freezer sensor (thermistor) off when the door is closed. Brandt P Georgetown , KY February 15, 2015 Appliance: Samsung Refrigerator RF266AAWP/XAA-0000 Samsung ice maker had broken; ice tray was cracked and ice bucket was a block of ice I ordered the complete ice maker assembly since I was unsure if I could simply replace the tray efficiently or correctly (yes, I could have). It turns out replacing the entire assembly was probably faster than replacing the tray. I'm fairly mechanically inclined but had no experience or knowledge of icemakers. The entire process was completed in 20 minutes, but most of that time was spend removing trays from the freezer and removing the freezer door (bottom freezer style that pulls out as a drawer). This was a very simple process: remove the freezer door and internal trays, then remove the 2 Phillips head screws securing the icemaker to the freezer, gently slide the icemaker forward off of it's mounting post, tilt it to the side and unplug the harness. Installing was just as easy: connect the new icemaker's wiring harness, slide the unit into the mounting stud, install the 2 mounting screws, and finally press the test/reset button on the bottom of the icemaker. One piece of advice I found on my freezer: my freezer has two drawers. It is easier to install the door and the bottom drawer before reinstalling the top drawer. Sandra W Clovis , CA May 09, 2015 Appliance: Model AP5651755 (DA97-07603B) Ice maker ceased up and was stuck I ordered the replacement and received it in less than 24 hours!! I removed the old ice maker, installed the new one (just 2 screws), and reloaded the freezer. Nothing happened. It seemed that there was no power to the ice maker. I thought a while and then thought that I should unplug the fridge to see if it resets the circuits. It worked!! All is well and my ice bin is full. James C Cary , NC September 02, 2019 Ice maker in freezer was overfilling I started by replacing the water filter assembly since it was leaking after I attempted to install a non-name-brand filter. The new assembly didn't fix the problem (but was hard to find, and AppliancePartsPros was amazing in being able to get one). Further, while replacing that I noticed that the previous owner had literally cut out the grounding pin from the power cord. I decided to replace the power cord and the Ice Maker Assembly. None of the online stores seemed to have either part listed (they described only the refrigerator ice maker), so I called in. AppliancePartsPros spent probably 15 minutes on the phone going over details and meticulously looking--and both parts were exactly what I needed. With everything in hand, the actual repair took only about 10 minutes.
