Mary B Rockforf , MI October 16, 2015 Samsung ice maker thermostat failure and broke ice bin Due to a failure of the icemaker thermostat, the ice bin would stick in the freezer and eventually broke. I had a certified repair man evaluate and he told me which parts I needed and the cost for repair. He was kind enough to show me that the replacement of the icemaker was fairly simple. I ordered the icemaker part through Amazon and the ice bun through Appliance Parts Pro. The ice bin arrived promptly and in excellent condition. The repair service could have obtained the same parts but at a much higher price. I (lady of the house) completed the repair myself within 15 minutes and saved nearly $400! Very happy with my parts purchase. Read More... 8 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 15-30 minutes Tools: Screwdrivers
