Terry P Damon , TX January 25, 2015 Appliance: Model WA5471ABP-XAA The top of the washer rusted through around the bleach dispenser I thought this was going to be an all day job. Unplug the machine, turn off the water supply and disconnect the water supply hoses from the machine. I had to first remove the control panel, two Screws. This exposed the next step, removing all of the control devices, valves, electronics. The wiring harness from below passes through a hole in the Top, so everything has to come off. Remove the Detergent displenser tray and ready to remove the Top. All the difficult stuff is connected to the body of the machine, so no sweat. With the top off, switch the Washer Lid to the new Top and move the Bleach dispenser to the new Top. Reinstall the Top and and everything the way you took it off. The wiring harness is made just right, so if you start connecting stuff beginning on the right side, it just falls into place. Start to finish in about 3 hours with no service manual. A Phillips Screw Driver, a pair of Pliers and a 10mm Socket wrench. No other tools needed.
