Gregory S Fairfax , VA April 09, 2017 Appliance: Samsung Dishwasher DMT800RHB/XAA He error code heater element failed Remove and replace the heater element. I tested the heater element first to be sure it was causing the error code. Articles on the internet describe several ways to test the heater element. I chose the direct method which required putting dishwasher on its back and removing the bottom tray to gain access to the heater element. The repair is straight forward once you have access as the heater element is secured by one bolt. The difficulty comes with removing the dishwasher, gaining access to the heater element and working in a confined area. No special tools are necessary. I used a phillips head screw driver, needle nose pliers and a 10mm socket. If you have to disconnect your water supply line, I suggest replacing it rather than trying to reuse it. This will reduce the chance of leaks when everything is reconnected.
