James M Williamsburg , VA October 10, 2015 Appliance: Samsung Refrigerator RF260BEAEBC/AA-0001 Samsung french door refrigerator with freezer on the bottom 33 e error code Turn off the water to the ice maker. Unload the freezer and remove the freezer door so you have room to work. Remove the ice maker by removing 2 screws in the front then pull the unit toward the front and unplug the wiring connection. The pipe will now be exposed. Remove the flexible piece from the front of the pipe that directs the water flow to the ice cube tray. Remove the wire tie on the front of the pipe and peel off the insulation surrounding the pipe. The heater will now be exposed. Unplug the heater wiring connection. Go to the rear of the frig and locate the water connection leading to the freezer. Remove the cover and unscrew the water line from the pipe connection. Now go back to the freezer and push the pipe up and out the back of the frig. Go to the back and pull the pipe the rest of the way out. Peel off the defective heater making sure that you remember the direction the heater was adhered to the pipe and the placement of the wiring. Test the new heater with an ohm meter to be sure you are showing resistance through the unit. Samsung says it should be 105 ohms +or - 7%. My new heater showed 70 ohms and works just fine. Now peel off the pressure sensitive backing on the new heater unit and adhere it to the pipe. Feed the pipe through the opening in the back pushing it down until the rear "T" is flush with the base. Go to the freezer once more and wrap the pipe with a foam insulation wrapping with tape and placing a wire tie on the end as originally done. Replace the flexible connection on the front of the pipe and plug in the unit. The 33-E error code should now be off. Now replace the ice maker and the project is complete. Push the reset button on the front of the ice maker. The ice maker should recycle and allow water to flow to the ice cube tray. In 2 hours you will have fresh new ice and a happy wife! Lynn W Redding , CA February 21, 2016 Appliance: Samsung Refrigerator RF323TEDBSR/AA-0001 Bottom freezer ice maker not working 33 e error code Excellent story from James M. • Williamsburg, VA Turn off water to ice maker and unplug refrigerator. Unload bottom freezer. Trays/baskets all lift out. Press white plastic side lock (one each side, inside the freezer) to unlock the metal drawer slides and carefully pull out the drawer and slides as a single unit. No tools needed, you don't need to disassemble the drawer or slides. Now that you have room to work, remove ice maker by removing 2 screws at front, pull forward, then unplug unit. Remove flexible silicon water guide on the front end of the pipe (push from back of flex guide is easier/safer than pull from front) Unplug heater connection. Go to rear of fridge and locate the plastic water line leading to bottom freezer. Remove back cover (2 screws) and 2 screws holding in the pipe. Pull the entire 12 inch pipe assembly out the back. Unscrew and remove the water connection with your fingers. Clip plastic tie wrap at front end of pipe holding wires. Carefully slide off insulation (it is a tube shape) to expose foil covered heating element. Work carefully so you don't tear the insulation sleeve. You do not need to remove the tape on the insulation. Note the position of the wires to the plug. Peel off old heating element. Take off adhesive protective cover on new heating element. Line it up like the one you just removed and then stick it firmly into place. You want good contact of all heating wires to the pipe. Slide the insulation cover sleeve back on. Use a new tie-wrap to hold the wires in place. Slide this whole assembly back into the freezer from the back of the fridge. Attach the water line (finger tight) and then secure in place with 2 screws. Replace back cover with 2 screws. Back inside the freezer you need to plug in the heater wires and push the flexible water guide back onto the front end of the pipe. The opening in the water guide must face down. Plug in the ice maker wire connector first, then slide the top of the ice maker back into the two round brackets at the rear. Secure with the two screws at the front. Carefully slide the door assembly back in until the door closes. Pull it back out enough to reach the front edge of the metal drawer slides. Push those back in until the side locks snap into the frame of the drawer slides. Replace the bins, turn on the water, plug in the fridge. Steven B Birmingham , AL December 12, 2016 Appliance: Samsung Refrigerator RF323TEDBSR/AA-0001 33 e error code after power failure heater must have been bad for a week or so! As was mentioned in a previous posts, removal and installation was pretty easy. I would like to add that the WHITE PLASTIC TAB that you have to push in to remove lower sliding drawer are located inside the slide frame about mid way of the freezer compartment. I used a OHM meter to verify my old part was an open circuit. I washed out tube with hot water as it was frozen solid with ice. New part measured 72 ohms just as tag said it should. Pressed the test button after repair and watched the water roll into the tray. Take time to vacuum the dust off the coils at the bottom of the fridge while you have it pulled out.
