Don T Jacksonville , FL January 12, 2016 Appliance: Samsung Washer WA422PRHDWR/AA-0001 Drain motor would not engage transmission gearbox Replaced motor, I feel though that the spring tension is too high on the actuating lever, causing the small cable to stretch and not fully engage the clutch star, causing the tub to jump, and the sound of grinding due to not fully engaging the drive star. This has not happened since replacement of the motor, but will surely happen again I feel, as cable stretches. This is an exceptionally easy fix, no panels to remove, just tip machine to gain access to bottom, and the rest is pretty much straight forward.
