John K Lawrenceville , GA November 03, 2017 Appliance: Samsung Dryer DV400EWHDWR/AA-0000 Dryer would not start. The start button had been tricky to use. You had to push it in just a certain way to get the dryer to start. Eventually it was non-responsive. All other controls worked and there was no error code displayed. The repair was to replace the whole control board which cost around $100. Heavy sigh.. Be sure to keep track of all your screws. BTW it was not the thermal fuse. All the online videos say this is the first thing to look for when the dryer will not start. Be sure to check with the person who uses the dryer the most about any button issues before taking anything apart. Washed the lint catcher in the sink and took the holder apart and got every bit of lint out even though both looked clear. I followed the excellent video and took the advice of one of the commenters about replacing the thermistor. My usual repair person was not available, so I did it myself. I am an 83-year-old woman. It took a while, but I'm confident that I can do it again if necessary. Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 1-2 hours Tools: Screwdrivers
