Salvatore S Union City , CA September 10, 2016 Appliance: Model RS4289HARS After a few years of abuse the freezer drawer rails bent and the ball bearings came out and no longer held the drawer in place At first I tried to fix the bent rails and press back in the ball bearings, but even the sleeves were ripped. The rails purchased from Appliance Part Pros were in-stock and lowest cost. I needed to keep the metal rod that keeps the two drawer slides in sync, and a small plastic piece that holds the metal rod in place. The rails slide out easily if you push a small plastic latch towards the back of the freezer section. I needed to back out 4 10mm bolts that hold the door to the rails. Just be careful not to tighten them too much they seemed like they would strip easily. Morgan J Pittsburgh , PA March 20, 2016 Appliance: Model RF4287HAWP/XAA OR HABP/XAA The middle drawer slide was damaged and lost some ball bearings I replaced the rail-slide assembly. The repair wasn't difficult and took about 15 minutes. The only difficulty I had was finding the correct part. Samsung did not list the part at all based on my model number for a white refrigerator, so I had to look up the part number under the stainless steel model. The new part was identical to the old one in my fridge and works great! Robert R Rogersville , MO December 04, 2022 Appliance: Samsung Refrigerator RF4287HARS/XAA-0001 Some Samsung freezers have ice build up below the freezer drawer. I am not sure I fixed it yet. To get to the ice, remove the upper freezer drawer, then remove the lower drawer. This requires removing the door basket at the front of the lower drawer. To do this you must pull out the door basket and then remove the supports at the end of the basket that hold it. When I removed them, I did it wrong and broke out a piece of plastic in each. I ordered new supports. I found a YouTube on doing the job and followed it. The new supports clicked into place, and I reinstalled the basket. The damaged supports went to the plastic recycling bin. Elapsed time is about 10 minutes. Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: Less than 15 minutes
