The screws ordered were the wrong type (I removed machine threads, the replacements were self threading) Not a problem.The screws fixing the burners to the top plate were badly rusted and the heads had to be drilled off. The remaining part of the screws had to be drilled out which meant that the self threading screws could then be used. Changing the valve was straight forward. The Electrodes and Harness Assembly is an OEM part for GE gas ranges. This assembly includes the electrode rods that produce sparks to ignite the gas burners as well as the wiring harness that connects the electrodes to the control unit.
Causes can be normal wear and tear over the lifetime of the appliance. Repeated sparking from ignition as well as heat cycling can deteriorate the electrode material and wires. Physical damage from impact or liquids could also compromise function.
