The Auger Agitator is an OEM part for Whirlpool washers. It is responsible for creating washing action by moving the clothing items back and forth in the drum.
A bad auger agitator can be caused by regular use, wear and tear, or damage from objects getting caught in the agitator. If you notice that your clothes are not being properly agitated or if the agitator is not spinning correctly, it may indicate a problem with the auger agitator.

Removed cover from Whirlpool washer (~20 years old) and found water to be leaking from hose connection at Break Vac. This retainer ring is a genuine OEM replacement part sourced directly from the manufacturer for use on front load washing machines to hold the boot seal in place. The boot seal is the gasket that seals the washing machine when the door is closed to prevent water from leaking. The retainer ring is located flush against the boot seal and has either a spring clamp or screw clamp that secures it. Over time, this ring may become damaged due to the washing machine's normal use and age. If the ring is not tight, the washing machine could leak when in use. If water is coming from the door, it is a good idea to inspect and replace the retainer ring and possibly the boot as well.Unplug the washing machine to prevent electrocution. Remove the front panel, the detergent dispenser, and the kickplate to access the retainer ring. Locate the clamp on the ring and loosen it. Remove the retainer ring and set it to the side. Inspect the boot and then install the new retainer ring. Tighten the clamp and reassemble the washing machine. This retainer ring is sold as an individual unit. It is designed specifically for washing machines manufactured by Whirlpool.

Fix agitator not working or washer won't spin. This spring retainer secures the tension spring in your agitator assembly. Easy 30-minute DIY repair.
Replaced dogs & cap seal. I also replaced Spring retainer since it was worn and I had it apart. Easy repair. Used a screwdriver to pop off fabric softener cap. socket to remove the agitator. I used a flathead screwdriver to remove the spring from the retainer. I cleaned everything and reassembled. It was a very easy repair. Saved at least $100. doing it myself. This cam assembly kit includes the components that allow the agitator's upper portion to ratchet in one direction during the wash cycle. The cams engage and release to create the back-and-forth agitation motion that cleans clothes. Replace this kit if the agitator spins freely in both directions without gripping, makes clicking or grinding noises, or no longer agitates clothes effectively.
Simple by using 7/16 socket with long extension to remove the bolt and pull the whole agitator out and clean them. Put back in together with new parts. It works fine now. Read more
