This dishwasher cam assembly is a precision-molded drive component that converts rotation into the timed movement the mechanism needs. Replacing a worn cam helps restore smooth, reliable actuation during the cycle and reduces sticking or misalignment.

Replaced dogs & cap seal. I also replaced Spring retainer since it was worn and I had it apart. Easy repair. Used a screwdriver to pop off fabric softener cap. socket to remove the agitator. This screw and washer is an OEM replacement part used for Whirlpool washers. It is used to secure the lid switch. Each screw is sold individually. The screw measures approximately 1 inch.

Researched this kenmore washer on-line and found the problem to be the lid switch. Saw a diagram on how to jump this switch by connecting a wire to both outside wires on the harness and voila! It worked! This is not a fix but it allowed me to finish the load of unwashed clothes and told me which part was bad (do not run washer jumped like this.......fire hazard!)
