Researched this kenmore washer on-line and found the problem to be the lid switch. Saw a diagram on how to jump this switch by connecting a wire to both outside wires on the harness and voila! It worked! This is not a fix but it allowed me to finish the load of unwashed clothes and told me which part was bad (do not run washer jumped like this.......fire hazard!) Replaced the Washer Motor Coupling for the agitator, and will be replaceing the Bleach Dispenser Hose & the Ring-Tub when it arrives, so that the Bleach Dispenser will be working properly again. All the repair directions videos shows how easy it is to make the repairs yourself. Read more
The timer dial allows manual selection of wash cycle duration and is located on the washer's control panel. Replace when the dial won't turn, skips settings, or the washer doesn't advance through cycles properly.
Part number 3949428 dial from appliance pros came in 2 days. Needed in three days as I was traveling to my vacation home. Previous occupant called me and let me know the washer was not working and described the problem. He sent picture in a text of the dial and model number. This is the top control panel assembly that houses the washer's selection buttons, display, and user interface components. It allows you to select wash cycles, water temperature, and other washing options while providing status information during operation.
