This is a metal mounting bracket designed to secure the blower motor in place within a range or cooktop downdraft system. It provides stable support so the motor operates without excess vibration or noise. Replace this bracket if it is bent, cracked, or if the motor rattles or shifts out of position during use.
I replaced the downdraft fan and fan motor of my 25 year old JennAire C301 cooktop. The issue was getting the fan/motor assembly out in such a tight place. I had to first remove the fan cover, cut the wires, then the assembly came out. Putting back wasn't as tough although getting the cover back on (over the motor) was a bit of a strain. This is a small glass jar that attaches to the underside of a range vent hood to collect grease and cooking residue filtered from the air during use. It threads or clips into a designated opening on the hood's grease collection system. Replace this jar if it is cracked, chipped, missing, or if the threading is damaged and it no longer seats securely, which can cause grease to drip onto the cooktop below.

The Fan Switch has been discontinued so had to look for a replacement. NO ONE had a replacement. Found a use appliance store that had one still in a bag. Purchased it. While changing the switch I noticed that the heat indicator were cracked. I was very surprised with the age of the cook top that these were still available.
