This drain pipe connects the defrost drain outlet to the drain pan area, channeling condensation and defrost water away from the freezer compartment. It is a rigid or semi-rigid tube that slides into the drain opening and directs water downward. Replace this part if you notice water pooling inside the freezer, ice buildup near the bottom of the compartment, or water leaking onto the floor beneath the appliance.
This fan motor kit includes the evaporator fan motor and associated mounting hardware used in the freezer compartment. The evaporator fan circulates cold air over the evaporator coils and throughout the freezer and refrigerator sections. Replace this motor if the freezer is warm, you hear unusual buzzing or clicking noises, or the fan has stopped spinning, which can lead to uneven cooling or rising temperatures.
Replaced the fan and blade. Would have been easy except the mounting threads were different than the original Kenmore freezer came with. After a 14 mile round trip for 2 5/32 screws and washers, I had my freezer back. Included an improved wiring harness than the original. Read more
Aluminum strap secures the defrost heater against the evaporator coil. Replace if broken, cracked, or missing to maintain proper heater contact.
Removed the freezer shelves and back panel, evaporator coils were frozen with ice. So after checking other components, I found that the temperature control was the culprit. No problem, I will simply order part # 2162521100. Well Frigidaire decided to obsolete that part and "Has not provided an approved substitute". So, I have to scrap this freezer and pay $800 to $900 for a new one? Not! Went online and ordered both parts on separate days, receiving the parts the next day FedEx. I am a 74 year female and put the parts on myself, also the model # on the freezer was easy to find. Live in a rural area in NW Missouri and would have driven 60 miles to order parts and then probably would have driven 60 miles to get them or had repair man come which is $100 just to have one come. This was totally appreciated! Read more
