Replacement suspension spring for washer tub support. Installs between cabinet and tub to absorb vibration. Replace if broken, stretched, or missing.
Our 10-year-old LG WM2487HWMA front load washer had gradually developed multiple problems. It sounded like a jet engine during high speed spin, both the drain pump and circulation pumps were noisy, it would not drain properly (water was coming in during spin cycle), no water was spraying out at the top of the door into the drum like it is supposed to when the circulation pump was running. It's amazing we had still been able to wash clothes at all! With the help of the excellent... Read more
Concrete balance weight mounts to washer outer tub to stabilize drum during spin. Replace if cracked, broken, or missing to restore proper vibration control.
My problem was a broken spider. I followed your excellent video, but have some additional input that should be incorporated in a new video showing the required upgrade procedures and parts required to repair an early model with damaged front tub half using currently available parts. Don't expect everything to go as easy as the video. 1) Used 4lb. brass hammer to drive shaft from bearings. 2) Torqued spider bolts to 20ft lbs. with thread locking compound. 3) attached rubber seal to front tub... After the noise became unbearable, I began to explore and disassemble. I knew enough to know the bearings must be bad but had never done this repair before. ( I am however pretty mechanically inclined.) Watch this video before you start tearing your LG apart. APP did a great job explaining the steps of the repair. Do a search on this site or youtube.com with... Read more
Replaced the "PCB Assembly, Main" and it works great now. I got instructions by searching online. The replacement was pretty easy for an average DIYer. The hardest part was disconnecting the cables from the initial circuit board. Read more
We also noted 2 things: 1) to make it work, the longer it was unplugged, the longer it would work; 2) 'burned' smell near capacitors on the board. Easy replacement: one screw in the back, then the feet slide into position. The most difficult part is getting some of the wire harnesses unplugged because you're at bad angles. Just remember that every plug has a release you need to squeeze before it'll move. Read more
