It was fairly obvious that the washer drainer motor had failed, water was not draining, filter was clean (bottom lower left panel door, have a pail ready!) and drain line was not blocked. Someone had provided great advice on the Appliance Parts Pro's site about replacing the drain motor from the bottom. Great suggestion! 1. I unplugged the washer from outlet 2. I turned off the hot and cold water taps going to the washer (both just in case) 3. Draped a towel over back edge of washer and under where hoses coming from water outlets attach to back of washer (to catch any loose water out of the hose or screw nozzle leading to valve assembly, then unscrew (by hand) the cold water hose from back of washer (leave hot water hose alone as not needed). 4. Thanks to the Appliance Pro video and next day delivery, the fix was easy. Removed the old seals by hand and placed the new seals around the door shelves and eased it into the grove in the door. Read more

Removed freezer door by removing 4 bolts holding slide tracks for freezer basket. Pulled out old gasket. Soaked new gasket in hot water to smooth out a crease that resulted from shipping. Installed new gasket, starting at corners. Used a blunt tool to push new gasket into slot at the corners. Set remaining gasket material with hands. Used putty knife to tuck edge of gasket under lip along door. Reinstalled door. Take care to line up door perpendicularly. There is some play when... Read more

Because many of the screws and fasteners are of multiple sizes, I would recommend laying them out in a muffin tray or on a paper with labels for where they go back. 2. After removing the weights and prepping to remove the shock absorbers, after the front ones were removed, the tub tilted so far the rear shock absorber separated. The friction pads fell out. Superfast parts delivery. Got packages by the second day. Videos were extremely helpful and well done; we couldn't have done without them although we came across slight differences in our machine and found workarounds. Our machine did not drain the water so I drained the water manually via drain tube at bottom of the machine and checked the filter for blockage. Our 10-year-old LG WM2487HWMA front load washer had gradually developed multiple problems. It sounded like a jet engine during high speed spin, both the drain pump and circulation pumps were noisy, it would not drain properly (water was coming in during spin cycle), no water was spraying out at the top of the door into the drum like it is supposed to when the circulation pump was running. I called an appliance repair company. They use a flat rate billing system which I don't like. They told me it will cost around $250.00 to replace the gasket and I would have to move my machine out so he would have room to repair it. He said the part would be in in 5 days. If you have an older model WM8000H_A you MUST pay attention to the type of door gasket (boot seal) that it uses. Every video I could find for replacing the seal on the WM8000HWA involved a different product than what was required for our specific washer. I wound up getting the wrong one by ordering it without help and had to exchange it - after I had the machine taken apart. I found a video, by another parts vendor, that showed in detail how to dismantle and repair the washer. I wouldn't have known how to even get to the problem without that repair video. Dismantling the washer was easy once I knew how, but would have been like a (litteral) Chinese puzzle without the video.
