I replaced the downdraft fan and fan motor of my 25 year old JennAire C301 cooktop. The issue was getting the fan/motor assembly out in such a tight place. I had to first remove the fan cover, cut the wires, then the assembly came out. Putting back wasn't as tough although getting the cover back on (over the motor) was a bit of a strain. The Fan Switch has been discontinued so had to look for a replacement. NO ONE had a replacement. Found a use appliance store that had one still in a bag. Purchased it. While changing the switch I noticed that the heat indicator were cracked. I was very surprised with the age of the cook top that these were still available. I had a friend watch the video and do the work. There was a problem in that the screws were rusted to the back plate and would not screw off. My friend had to use a drill to drill through them to be able to remove them. He had to go to a hardware store to buy a new set. Once we had the new screws it went fairly quickly. Now our oven works great just in time for baking season. Read more
