This is a small cap that covers and seals the rinse-aid reservoir on a dishwasher door. It keeps the rinse-aid liquid contained so it dispenses at the correct time during the wash cycle to prevent water spots on dishes. Replace this cap if it is cracked, warped, or no longer seals properly, which can cause rinse-aid to leak out prematurely or result in spotty dishes.
