Tappen Gas Stove circa 1981 (uses Fridgidaire parts). Unplugged stove from 110 wall outlet. Spark control module located on back side of stove about mid-way down on left side under a black cover that juts out. Black cover had 2 phillips head screws...removed the black cover and the spark module was right there...held on by 2 additional phillips screws. Read the reviews on your site and watched your video and decided it was worth a try to fix rather than to replace stove. Ordered the igniter for the oven then I also ordered the igniter for the broiler as it was sluggish as well. When you go, go all the way. Only problem I had was with the wire nuts, wish that something more substantial was provided. Got the stuff quickly, as promised and installed as per video and oven and broiler work like new. Insulation blanket surrounds the oven cavity to retain heat. Replace if burnt, deteriorated, or damaged by pests to restore proper heat retention.

From the Appliance Parts website I watched a 3 minute Youtube video. The video actually explained the process on another range but it was enough information for me to do the project myself. The part came 2nd day UPS and I installed it in under an hour. The only hitch was that I didn't see the note (maybe it wasn't there) that explained how the valve is set for Natural gas and that for LP gas I'd need to adjust the jet that goes into the burner tube. Support bracket that secures the broil heating element in your range oven. Replace if cracked, broken, or missing to properly mount the broiler element.
This Frigidaire model requires power to be disconnected before servicing. Power is going to the elements at all times and the control switches close to the ground side. removed the back panel to have access to the wiring of the element. Disconnect the two wires to the broil element and then opened the oven door and removed the screws holding the element in place. Gas burner won't light or clicks but doesn't ignite? Replace the igniter switch to restore spark and reliable lighting. Simple 15-30 minute DIY fix.
Very simple fix. Pull off burner knobs. remove 6 screws for faceplate, and remove. Used needle nose pliers to remove two wires, then old igniter pulled straight off. Actual fix took about 3 minutes. I spent way more time in cleaning faceplate and knobs before putting back together - even with that took only about 30 minutes for total job. Very easy. Read more
