Stacey B New Bern , NC February 01, 2021 Appliance: LG Microwave Oven LMVM2055ST Interior light and turntable failed at the same moment. Knowing the odds of 2 failures occurring at the same exact time was unusually high, I just searched your site for what other broken items might affect these two failures. Came up with next control item upstream and tallied that item failure with percentages of successful repairs, (4 mins.) door safety switch. Since I had to change out the most likely of the 3 and since I was already was going to be into the switch panel I ordered all 3 and swapped them all out to cover my butt, as they were inexpensive and I was going to have to spend time in that area anyway. One Phillips head screwdriver, three Philips head screws, 4 minutes of my time to carefully remove parts, 3 minutes to install new switches and 5 minutes to carefully reinstall panels and...PROBLEM SOLVED. Knowledge is power...The Internet can provide knowledge and experience of millions of repairs, (if those sites can be trusted, which is vitally important with all the fake information out there). I have and still do trust this site and their parts prices are reasonable. Again they have come to the rescue. What any novice would have considered being a catastrophic appliance failure, was actually a simple maintenance wear issue from 10 years of LG reliable product use. Instead of spending $900 plus tax on a new unit and 4 hrs of my time to take out, travel to the store, and put and reinstall a new unit, I spent less than 30 mins and $40.13 and again...PROBLEM SOLVED. Successful companies aren't successful by accident. They either do things better than their competitors or they resort to short-term success by unethical means. Appliancepartspros.com simply has provided a fair parts pricing platform, with exceptional customer service and has done so for a very long time. As a 45-year successful multiple business owner having been involved in almost all businesses to include B to B, retail, manufacturing, service, maintenance, R &D, etc. I can recognize a well run long term customer satisfaction, retail operation...to date from my experience purchasing from this company...this is one. KEEP IT UP... and please resist the temptation down the road to get suckered into looking for better profit margins by cutting back on your ethical behavior. Dennis M Chapel Hill , NC February 16, 2015 Appliance: Model KENMORE 721.69123010 Fan and turntable would go on when door was open otherwise worked fine Replaced lower door latch switch, which was defective. Had ordered all three switches "just in case" but only the bottom one needed replacement. Thanks to the internet posts of others on this site and others, we knew what the likely culprit was and which parts to order. I love the internet and Google! Cost just $15 and a little time, and saved probably $70 - 100 over calling in a professional repair person. (Or more if we'd decided to just replace the micro.) And Appliance Parts Pros was great to deal with - shipped parts the same day, arrived two days later - perfect! Thank you! PS Repair took longer than we expected because we had to figure out how to get the old switch out - turned out that it swiveled down, after one pressed in the small piece on which it rested. Husband and wife team figured it out! Read More... 210 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 30-60 minutes Tools: Pliers, Screwdrivers
Andrew D Lawrenceville , NJ February 02, 2015 Microwave would not power on Through a little research I determined that the primary door sensor on the microwave was bad. AppliancePartsPros got the identified parts to me quickly. I then installed the parts, the microwave worked great, and best of all I saved a couple hundreds bucks by not having to buy a new microwave/pizza oven. Shawn H St. George , UT January 18, 2015 Appliance: Model 721.79152010 Kenmore elite microwave running with door open (not cooking) Our oven wouldn't cook but the fan and light would come on with the door open. After reading many forum posts on the internet I determined that either 1 or more of the interlock switches had failed. I couldn't tell from testing them so I ordered all three switches from Appliance Pros. The switches were about $15 with shipping and all right to my door and arrived in 3 days. I was able to install them and now the oven works as it should. I was unable to tell which switch(es) were bad from testing them with an ohm meter. They all had continuity when they should have and none when they shouldn't. I just threw them away. The oven has been fixed now for several days and we haven't had any more problems with it. It is nice to have a venue like Appliance Pros to look all this up and be able to find a solution. This oven wasn't cheap and it's only about 2 years old. It should last many years.
