Replace your washer's cracked or broken outer door panel. This white plastic cover protects the door frame and attaches at the hinge. Restores appearance.
I took the door assembly apart by removing the 7 screws on the inner door and the 2 on the striker. I removed the hinge from the washer so that I could place it inside the door when I put it back together. This is much easier then trying to reassemble the door while the hinge is attached to the machine. Once I lined up all of the pieces properly, I screwed it back together and remounted the striker. I then put the entire door back on the machine by screwing in the three screws that hold on... Read more

Using the make and model of the refrigerator, I did some research on the internet to find a detailed diagram of the door. I then found AppliancePartsPros.com. This is a heat shield insulator that mounts on the inner side of the dryer door in a stacked laundry center or washer/dryer combo unit. It prevents excessive heat from transferring through the door during drying cycles, protecting the outer door surface and improving energy efficiency. Replace this insulation if it is torn, deteriorated, or missing, which can cause the door to become excessively hot to the touch or reduce drying performance.

Fix a washer that won't advance through cycles or stays stuck on one setting. This mechanical timer restores proper cycle sequencing. 1-hour DIY repair.
Replaced the washer timer. I have been able to coax a bit more life out of these timers by using electrical cleaner and/or emery paper. Cleaning is only borrowing time though. I have replaced this same part three times now, but over a (roughly) 12 year period of time and nearly daily use. Not very difficult. I would rather keep fixing this older unit than pay a service tech big dollars to repair a newer unit. (Typical experiences of friends and family members.) I also clean and store the old... Read more
