Fix was simple. Hardest part was taking off old part and attaching the new part. The drum was in the way but I worked around it. Started by opening dryer top, then unscrewing the timer mechanism in order to create some slack. Removed the wires from the start switch and replaced the old switch with the new one. Reconnected the wires and screwed everything back in place. Simple fix wish I had more strength in my hands. Girl Power!! Read more

First attempt was to replace the door latch mechanism...didn't fix it. Kept researching and the washer control knob had been hard to turn so it seemed logical that was the problem. Also, at some point the end cap had broken. As it has the main grounding point inside it and as I was taking the control panel apart anyway it made sense to replace it. Read more
The dryer timer power resistor regulates electrical current to the timer motor in mechanical timer systems. Replace when the timer fails to advance properly, gets stuck in cycles, or the dryer runs continuously without stopping.

This washer switch is both the lid lock and lid switch. New mounting bracket replaces older design. Which means in some applications you may need to drill off old design mounting bracket prior to mounting the new lock. If your replacing the 4 wire switch you will need to tape off light switch leads. The light will no longer be used. Instructions included.
I unplugged the power source to the appliance. I unscrewed 2 screws and unplugged the lid switch. I replaced the old switch with the new switch and screwed in the same 2 screws that held the old switch in place and plugged the new lid switch back in under the lid. that's it . I plugged in the washer and started a load of clothes. works just fine. NO HUGE REPAIR BILL.
