The Spring Idler is an OEM replacement part for Speed Queen residential clothes dryers. It works with the dryer drum to facilitate the controlled tumbling of laundry items during the drying cycle. Proper functioning is important for efficiency and effectiveness.
Causes of a bad spring idler can include material fatigue from years of repetitive use. It can also result from overloading the dryer with excessively heavy wet loads that put abnormal stress on the idler mechanism.
Symptoms of a failed spring idler include:
- The dryer drum not rotating smoothly
- Clothing failing to tumble freely and wrinkling instead
- Prolonged drying cycles and increased energy use
- Noisy squeaking or creaking emanating from inside the dryer
As the mechanism responsible for facilitating optimal tumbling, this OEM Speed Queen replacement idler spring restores smooth and efficient dryer operation.
