In addition to blown fuse; the fuse holder was melted at one end. Checked the unit to see if any part or wiring that would cause the issue, none was visible. Referred to wiring diagram included inside to identify components, including interlocks. All seemed functional. Bought replacement 20A fuse. Fuse holder no longer available so bought similar unit with 25A rating - little retrofitting. Put unit back together, and it's working so far. Wife is happy. Read more

I searched the web and it seemed that many people had a similar problem when gunk got on the waveguide plate/cover. When I removed the cover, one of the plastic latches broke so rather than just trying to clean the plate, I had to order a new one. The new one arrived in just a couple of days, I put the plate on and at least for the last few days, no more arcing. <$10 fix for my over the stove microwave. Read more

Dis-assembled the door(not easy), thoroughly cleaned the glass and screen, re-assembled the door and replaced the seal tape. Looks good. Would look better if the seal tape hadn't come in with some creases in it. But it is acceptable. Read more

This was an expensive Maytag over the stove type unit. Removal was easy, just two screws allow it to tip forward and then lift off the wall bracket. 14 screws around the outer shell and it lifts off to expose everything. Basic meter checks show the capacitor, diode, transformer, fuses all good. Pretty easy fix. Took out 7-8 screws to remove cover for access to light. 2 were security type screws so I had to run to the hardware store to buy a special screwdriver. One screw to remove the bulb. Read more

LG Help-line said probably a failed magnetron, but since out of warranty,referred me to an authorized LG repair service. They wanted $79.95 service call to come out & diagnose problem. I ordered replacement magnetron for less than cost of a service call, Plus the part was delivered next day! Works like new again. Happy wife = happy life!
