I sent an e-mail to customer service and explained to them that I had lifted the Amana cooktop from the counter and it appeared to be a sealed unit. Not certain how to take it apart, I asked for the service manual or description on how to access the unit for repair. The next day customer service / technical support sent me a PDF, and after printing out and reading it - decided that the unit was repairable by removing (8) screws from the burners, and (2) screws from underside of the burner... Removed cook top knobs Lifted top an inch by bracing underneath with lumber Unfastened screws around the side (under the glass) holding the glass top on Made sure not to unscrew attachment to burners Unplugged wiring harnesses and stowed cook top away Unfastened enough screws to turn control switch area over Removed nut holding fan control onto metal control switch area box Replaced fan control with part from AppliancePartsPros, connecting just as old one was Used new nut to attach new control...
