Spoke with Chuck at AppliancePartsPros.com who told me which part to order. Purchased part, which arrived promptly, and replaced part. Just swapped out old one for the new one. Entire job took only about 10 minutes to complete. This is a replacement control board that has been manufactured by Whirlpool.The control board needs to be kept in good working order, or the user may notice that the range doesn't heat up properly or the temperature is unable to be accurately controlled. In such circumstances, or if there is visible damage to the control board, it should be immediately replaced. Wear work gloves to prevent serious hand injuries and unplug the appliance from power.This genuine OEM part is compatible with different ranges. As an authentic part, this control board is intended for use with different brands of ranges manufactured by Whirlpool, Maytag, Kitchenaid, Magic Chef, and other compatible brands. This part is sold individually.
Chainged the mother board or relay board. Facing the oven it is on the right upper corner. Pull oven out enough to get to the two screws on left and right side that control the tilt angle of control face. Unscrew and remove, pull face out enough to un plug connectors to old control board. Replace with new board. Shut off breaker at panel before you begin and take picture with your phone so you dont mix up the wires when hooking up wires. 20 min Job, 1 hour if you stare at it. My repairman said that he thought the hinges were bad and that the springs probably were the issue. He said that normally one replaces both hinges.
