The machine would not run a full cycle before it cut off and had the code "FE" and water was too high. The water inlet valve needed to be replaced since it was letting in too much water at time. The repair was easy. Unplug machine and turn off cold water. Remove cold water line and drain water into bucket. Remove back two braces located at the top on each end of machine This will allow you to move top cove back about one inch. Pull back top cover about 1 inch then lift off cover. Remove... Read more

Mixing Valve
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: WP34963

This mixing valve blends hot and cold supply water to reach the selected temperature during fill. Replacing a worn valve restores correct water temperature and flow so cycles run as intended. What it does:

  • Regulates and mixes hot and cold water entering the appliance during fill
  • Helps maintain the selected warm temperature for consistent performance
  • Opens and closes to control water flow
  • Common symptoms: only hot or only cold fill, incorrect water temperature, slow/no fill, or leaks at the valve connections
What's included:
  • 1 mixing valve assembly
Install notes:
  • Disconnect power and shut off the water supply before servicing
  • Place a towel/bucket to catch residual water; relieve line pressure
  • Label and remove hoses; transfer any brackets or fittings from the old valve if needed
  • Restore water, check for leaks, and run a brief fill test

This part fixes the following symptoms
  • No hot or cold water
  • Will not fill with water

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You My pump belt broke   Steven H. • Harleysville , PA • June 15, 2015

This was a very easy fix. Two screws to get the front off of the washer. Removed one side of the tensioner spring. Loosened two screws for the motor and two screws for the pump. I decided to replace the agitate belt even though it wasn't broken.. So, I removed that belt from the pulleys and the removed the broken belt. then just reversed the process to install the belts. it toke me less than 30 minutes and my washer was back in service. Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Leaking water from the pump anytime there was water in the washer tub   Alex B. • Stamford , CT • June 30, 2014

My wife found soapy water on the floor of the laundry room. I removed the front access cover on the washer and found water in the bottom of the washer and seeping our the drain holes. Running a rinse and spin cycle showed water leaking out of the pump all the time there was water in the tub. I ordered this pump and after watching a youtube video of someone else doing it had no trouble installing it. Problem fixed. You do need a torx head screw driver T20 or T25 to remove the pump from the motor. Read more
