After having a technician come to look at my washer, diagnosing the problem, and then not having the part to fix it (which would've taken another week or so after the washer was down at this point for a week and a half) I decided I could fix it myself. This is a rubber drive belt that connects the motor to the wash basket in a top-load or front-load washing machine.
