The Vent Control Button is an OEM component specifically designed for select Bosch downdraft ventilation ranges. Pressable from the countertop, its reliable switch operates the vent position. Precise guidance aligns ductwork airflows.
Symptoms of a faulty control button may include intermittent or unresponsive vent movement. Over-activation degrades contacts requiring change.

Broken downdraft switch James S. • Sunnyvale , CA • May 03, 2018
Found replacing the switch to be doable, but it was quite a delicate operation. This was for a Thermador range with a broken downdraft switch. It required the removal of 5 small screws which could easily be fumbled and dropped down where it would be difficult, if not impossible to retrieve. Two of the screws were facing the back, so it was a blind operation to remove and replace the screws. Required an offset screwdriver, as space was tight. So, be EXTREMELY careful to not drop the screws and...

This is a genuine OEM replacement o-ring sourced directly from the manufacturer for use on range vent hood switches. The o-ring provides a tight seal for the switch and keeps smoke from escaping through the switch connection. If the o-ring becomes worn or damaged, the vent will not remove smoke during cooking and should be replaced. Heat and debris pulled through the vent may cause the o-ring to warp. O-rings are not designed to last forever and may need to be replaced during the life of the appliance to keep it functioning correctly. To start, disconnect the power to the vent hood and dismantle the vent in order to reach the switch. To start, disconnect the switch and locate the o-ring. Remove the old one and dispose of it. Place the new o-ring in the groove and press firmly to seal the part. Lubrication is not necessary for installing the new o-ring. Reassemble the switch and put the vent hood back in place. Connect the power and try the switch to make sure it works. This o-ring is made of heavy-duty black rubber is and sold individually. It is designed for use in range hoods manufactured by Thermidor.

This is a genuine OEM replacement grease filter sourced directly from the manufacturer for use on range vent hood filters. These filters are responsible for preventing grease and odors from reaching the air during cooking. If the filter becomes clogged, it will not be effective at filtering the air and should be replaced. Air filters that do not work properly allow odors and grease to enter the kitchen's air. These air filters are made with baffles that allow the air to flow while at the same time capturing the grease and contaminants that can pollute the air. If odors are escaping the stove, the filter should be removed and replaced. To remove the filter, pull it out of its holder and dispose of it in the trash. Insert the new filter and push it into place. Keep the air filter cleaned and replaced often to ensure air quality is at its best. This air filter is made of aluminum is and sold individually. It is designed for use in range vent hoods manufactured by Thermidor.

Thermador 36" downdraft vent for cook top made a thunking noise when lowered Ann W. • Loudon , TN • May 30, 2018
Found a knowledgeable helper who took the unit apart and replaced the Drive Arm Assembly and Drive Link. We had also replaced the switches and motor a month before, when we then noticed that the unit was not retracting at an even rate of speed.
I'm estimating that it took 1-2 hours because the unit is in the middle of a kitchen island. We needed to remove and replace storage drawers to access the unit, which took as long as the repair itself.
The old c. 1998 Drive Arm Assembly was very worn...
