William M Bethesda , MD June 12, 2026 Appliance: Thermador Cook "N" Vent Downdraft System CVS36RS The prior up/down switch was damaged when liquid spilled into it i needed to replace the switch Took Stainless steel top off the downdraft unit. Removed prior vent switch. Unhooked the three wires (two white, one black) and swapped out the switch. Put unit back together. It was a fairly simple task. Note - I am missing a couple of pieces that I cannot find on line. As a result, I think I must be missing a part that enables me to install the vent up/down button (it does not "fit" on top of the switch. It must have some adapter that is needed) so the switch is slightly recessed into the top of the unit and you need to put your finger into the unit to activate it. Read More...
