Purchased new motor with Appliance Parts. First motor came defective, would not move, but I contacted customer support and they sent a new one out immediately, that one worked fine and was able to make the repair. I normally call in an appliance repair company to work on my Thermidor appliances, but this is one appliance they didn't want to touch. It was a cumbersome repair but not all that difficult once I disassembled the unit. Read more
Found a knowledgeable helper who took the unit apart and replaced the Drive Arm Assembly and Drive Link. We had also replaced the switches and motor a month before, when we then noticed that the unit was not retracting at an even rate of speed. I'm estimating that it took 1-2 hours because the unit is in the middle of a kitchen island.
