I simply reached my hand into the back housing, removed the two old (greasy) filters and slipped the two new filters in their place. Very easy. Replaced it with the 4 position switch..The original switch was a 3 position switch..By replacing it with a 4 position switch, I now have a bit more control of the heater, to the extent that it is now more quiet in the low mode than before. The only issue I had, was the stem which was slotted, while my stem was a "D" type stem. So I did a little filing and cutting until I got a perfect tight fit on the knob..The unit, now functions perfect, IMHO. Read more

Purchased new motor with Appliance Parts. First motor came defective, would not move, but I contacted customer support and they sent a new one out immediately, that one worked fine and was able to make the repair. I normally call in an appliance repair company to work on my Thermidor appliances, but this is one appliance they didn't want to touch. Found a knowledgeable helper who took the unit apart and replaced the Drive Arm Assembly and Drive Link. We had also replaced the switches and motor a month before, when we then noticed that the unit was not retracting at an even rate of speed. I'm estimating that it took 1-2 hours because the unit is in the middle of a kitchen island.
