I nearly shelled out for a new Kitchenaid when I remembered APP and entered my model # just for fun. The interactive diagrams and install videos showed where all the parts "should" be, mine were badly disintegrated, so I replaced the damaged ones and swapped out all of the other easily accessible seals and bearings (also gave it a good and very disturbing cleaning). 1. To fix the leaks from around the door, I replaced the upper and lower door seals. These were purchased in a separate transcation, so they are not the parts shown here. The upper door seal worked as intended, but the lower seal would not stay in place on the lower edge of the door during a wash. Therefore I cleaned the grease and detergent off the old seal, and installed using silicone sealer/adhesive. Door latch strike.
Assessed the situation and determined that the metal strike was broken. The unit did not work and no power due to this. Looked up the part with the model number and installed in less than 10 minutes. Unit worked immediately. The two screws require a star wrench or small nut driver for removal. Very easy! Read more

I had no hope of separating the panel from the frame without damaging the frame since the two parts were rusted pretty badly and the screws holding the panel to the frame were completely beyond salvage. So I had to replace both the panel and the frame. I ended up removing the electrical/electronic connections, removing the panel/frame from the hinge and then replacing it with the new parts. Replaced bottom left front tub wheel to top rack. Rack rail is slightly bent because of fall. New part works fine with a slight stiffness to rail. problem resolved. Read more
