Michael K Paramus , NJ April 18, 2015 Appliance: Whirlpool LA5580XTW1 Replacement of rusty inner basket Ordered the parts from AppliancePartsPros - super fast shipping, and even though I opted for regular shipping all of my parts arrived the very next day, including the big and bulky inner basket. Disassembly went smoothly, simply following the directions in the AppliancePartsPros video. The only problem I had was that the inner basket simply would NOT come of the drive block no matter what I did. Struggled for a few hours trying to take it off. Then, I called AppliancePartsPros and they said it was not unusual to encounter this, and suggested using "PB Blaster" (which is available at Home Depot) to free it up. I generously sprayed the area where the basket sits on the drive block, waited 15 minutes and then soaked it again. APP said it might take up to 4 applications in 15 minute intervals. After the second spray and soak, the basket lifted of easily! I was amazed to find incredibly amounts of gunk and rust in and around the underside of the basket. Cleaned it all up as well as the plastic outer tub. Installed the new inner basket, locked it down with the spanner and easily reassembled the rest of the machine. Aside from the wrestling match to remove the basket, this would have been about an hour long repair. If you are removing the tub from an older machine, I suggest you just go ahead and pick up some PB Blaster in advance, you'll probably need it (wd40 didn't do the job). You'll probably also want to have the special spanner wrench to remove the locking nut from the driveshaft. It is available from APP as well. All in all the process could not have been smoother - from locating and ordering the parts on APP, to fast shipping, then to great instructions for the repair - all went well thanks to AppliancePartsPros! Samuel M Sudbury , MA January 12, 2016 Appliance: Model KUDM35SHBL1 Leaks from around the door and from the pump motor 1. To fix the leaks from around the door, I replaced the upper and lower door seals. These were purchased in a separate transcation, so they are not the parts shown here. The upper door seal worked as intended, but the lower seal would not stay in place on the lower edge of the door during a wash. Therefore I cleaned the grease and detergent off the old seal, and installed using silicone sealer/adhesive. The plastic edge pieces for the lower seal were supplied with the kit, and they installed and worked correctly. 2. The parts shown here are gaskets, o-rings, and a tool for the pump and motor assembly. They installed and worked correctly, but the seal kit (Whirlpool # 675703) includes seal rings 302711 & 302710. The website should warn the customer if he is separately ordering redundant parts that are included in a kit. 3. The new o-ring for the discharge check valve (# 357574), did not stop the leak ffrom the joint with the pump body, so I coated the trheads with automotive silicone sealer (RTV) to solve that problem 4. I found videos on YouTube with clear replacement isntructions. 5. Note that the "screwdrivers" listed below are actual Torx driver. For my dishwasher, a 15 mm Torx driver was required.
