The foam was shot on the detergent cup lid. Hard as a rock. Causing caking problems, dribble down the inside wall of the door and leaving lumps of detergent. Cut the door in half wit aviation snips and pulled out the two halves. Discovered at this point that the spring had gone soft. Bought one ahead of time, so I was set. Put the spring on the left pin, put the spring pin in the door, slipped the door into place (open) and put the right pin in with pliers. Door snaps open now. Read more

The top sprayer arm was worn after 20 plus years of use. I replaced the "Washer Arm Retaining Clip/Outlet, Snap/ Upper Wash Arm". I first viewed a YouTube video to show me some troubleshooting tips. Narrow the "thump" to the upper wash arm. A simple fix. Unscrew the old arm. Assemble the three parts together. Screw the new assembly in place. No tools required. Got my son to fix it for me. He had to pull the dishwasher out from under the counter to reach the remaining part of the door latch. He removed the spring mechanism and placed it onto the new replacement latch and replaced the single screw holding the latch onto the dishwasher. Took him about half an hour. It's good to have sons!
