The hardest part of this project was finding an OEM knob for a 10 year old range top. I finally found it at AppliancePartsPros.com. It was a little expensive but I wanted a matching knob so was happy to pay it. The rest of the project was just popping off the remaining piece of the old knob and pushing the new knob on. Read more
A surface burner skirt that covers and protects the heating element on your electric range cooktop. This metal component directs heat upward while shielding the element from spills and debris. Replace it when the skirt is warped, discolored from overheating, or has cracks that affect heat distribution.
I thought this would be a simple remove and replace, boy was I wrong. This repair became more complicated then it should have been. The screws holding the skirt were frozen and broke when trying to remove. Had to end up cutting the skirt using a dremel and a cutting blade. Was able to remove one of the screws using a pinning plier. The other one I had to bore it out using a drill bit. Once that was done the rest was a breeze, discarded bad seal, clean the surface, install the new seal and... Read more

We bought a stove off Craigslist and didn't realize it was LP Gas until we got it home and my husband was hooking it up and the burners wouldn't light all the way around. My husband has been out of the gas company for over 10 years now and was a little rusty on what was happening. A small brass fitting located inside the gas burner assembly that controls the flow of gas to create the proper flame size. Replace if flames are too high, too low, yellow instead of blue, or if the burner won't light properly.
This should be an easy 5 minute three screws out and three screws back in job....but on older stuff it's never easy is it? The screws that hold the skirt on my burner were, like the skirt, rusted solid and despite soaking with PB-1 Blaster they just broke off when I tried to remove them. You can't effectively drill out the remains of the broken screws either (well I couldn't) because the part they screw into is a soft alloy and the screws are hard so the bit wanders off center and if the hole...
