Removed 3 screws which required a torx bit. Used small headless nails to line up the holes and use as a guide for sliding on new diffuser. Put screws in one at a time and tightened down. rotating the drum helped with slight mis-alignement with the screw holes. Read more

I could hear the dryer motor hum, but it would not run. There was nothing obstructing the motor from turning freely so I assumed I needed a new motor. I went ahead and ordered a new pulley switch to change out while I was in there just in case. The parts arrived faster than expected. I changed the switch first and then checked the old motor which surprisingly fired right up. Now I have to decide whether to return the new motor or keep it as a spare. Read more

Replaced the high limit safety thermostat. Ordering was easy, and the part came quickly. The video on the web site was helpful, although I was not able to follow the instructions fully. Unless you have super skinny, long arms, you cannot reach under and around the dryer tub to reach the belt tension arm. Replaced the top bearing assembly, drive belt, and blower wheel. The most time consuming and difficult part was putting the new drive belt back on the pulley and tensioner. I ordered two new baffles and 7 screws. I also ordered 6 large washers. We were running with one baffle held by only 2 of 3 screws. It appears that a repairman in the past had removed the large washers and over time, the screw heads reamed out the hole, causing the baffles to detach and break. I unscrewed the 3 Phillips screws on the back of the dryer controls housing, then it folds forward for access to each control switch. the old one popped out, and I swapped the wires using a needle nose pliers, one by one, from the old switch to the new switch.
