When we inspected the first time we found that Plactic had broken from the spiral part that for wards the ice. Also there were cracks in two places of other parts. Ice dispenser not working or making noise? The auger helix transports ice from bin to chute. DIY repair takes about 10 minutes with video guidance.
Determined the helix lock was free wheeling on auger helix dispenser not allowing auger to dispense ice properly. Auger also replaced because it had some badly worn areas around the blade assembly. Using videos available for instructions on how to disassemble auger dispenser the job was fairly easy. While I had the assembly removed I also replaced the drive cup which appeared worn.
