The nylon slides on the front felt seal were worn out, allowing the drum to sag in the front. This is where our clothing would get caught and scorch. I replaced the felt, rear bearing kit and while I was that far, I replaced the belt as it's very inexpensive. All done for less than 10% of a new dryer purchase.
