This drain pipe connects the defrost drain outlet to the drain pan area, channeling condensation and defrost water away from the freezer compartment. It is a rigid or semi-rigid tube that slides into the drain opening and directs water downward. Replace this part if you notice water pooling inside the freezer, ice buildup near the bottom of the compartment, or water leaking onto the floor beneath the appliance.
Aluminum strap secures the defrost heater against the evaporator coil. Replace if broken, cracked, or missing to maintain proper heater contact.
Removed the freezer shelves and back panel, evaporator coils were frozen with ice. Defrosted coil and removed defrost heater connectors, measured no continuity in the heater and ordered a replacement. Also discovered the aluminum retention strap was broken and the heater had slipped down in it's position, ordered and replacement strap. It was relatively easy, we took out the broken lid with the gasket then remove the clips, all of them were ok and we could use them again. Then we proceed to put the new lid with the gasket and use clips to fasten the lid. Read more
